Valant’s New Treatment Plan has been designed to help behavioral health practices create consistent clinical experiences and meet states and payers' evolving clinical requirements.

Valant's current Treatment Plan Tool will be getting a makeover and new functionality – plus, it’ll be easier to use than ever before.

  • Establish a custom practice library of treatment planning content, create provider-specific content

Content Libraries:

Content libraries will allow you to create a consistent treatment experience across the practice with research-backed content libraries of 1000+ preset problems, goals, objectives, and interventions. Choose from:

  • Valant Library - ready to use

  • Your practice’s library - Upload or write content specific to your practice’s unique approach

  • A provider’s personal library - Save and reuse your best work (Q2 enhancement)

For current treatment plan users, be on the lookout for a notification of your migration date.

For all users planning to adopt the new Treatment Plan, review product materials (coming soon!) ahead of migration date so you and your teams are prepared for the change.

Identify which Valant users you will give Treatment Plan Admin permission to – this will allow them to create and edit Types and practice content libraries (Note: This will be a new permission under Providers or Office Staff | Permissions).

Consider how many Treatment Plan Types your practice will need – you will get the default Valant Treatment Plan Type out of the box, but if you need multiple treatment plans per patient, you will need at least two Treatment Plan Types.

Assess your practice’s treatment plan content needs. You will get the evidence-based Valant Content Library out of the box, but if you need more specialized content, consider adding custom content to your practice library once the new Treatment Plan Admin is live in your account.

What Can Admins Do to Prepare?

We’re rolling out Treatment Plan with a phased approach.

For current treatment plan users, review your existing list of treatment plans and consider closing any draft plans you will not use – this helps you have a clean list of treatment plans upon migration.

For all users interested in using the new treatment plan, review our upcoming training content – links to this content will appear in your Valant account soon. Reviewing this material will give you a jump start on making the most of our new treatment plan features!

What Can Clinicians Do to Prepare?

Change management plans align everyone on software changes initiated by the Treatment Plan launch, including the introduction of treatment plan types, custom library content, automated reminders, and our enhanced User Interface.

Keep Everyone in the Loop

Proactive communication with everyone in your practice who interacts with Treatment Plans will help the migration go smoothly.

Use team meetings, 1-1s, and other internal communication to inform your team of the change.

Distribute this page and our Knowledge Base articles so everyone can get more details about the new Treatment Plan.

Create a Clear Roadmap

Once you receive notice of your migration date, provide details to your stakeholders, including when the change will take place, what they can expect, and what resources will be provided to support them through this change.

Your Change Management Plan

Identify Risks and Opportunities

The power of using Valant’s new Treatment Plan lies in creating clinical consistency across your practice.

This is best achieved when all clinicians adopt the same toolset.

If you have clinicians using multiple methods to create treatment plans – in and outside of Valant – this is an opportunity to get your whole team to adopt the same set of tools.

If you do not use  the current Treatment Plan:

New Treatment Plan will be enabled automatically.

If you use the current Treatment Plan:

Your draft, active, and closed treatment plans will automatically migrate to the new treatment plan UI on your assigned migration date.

You will receive a notification of your upcoming treatment plan migration date.

The Benefits of Valant’s New Treatment Plan

Personalized patient care: You’ll be able to tailor each aspect of your treatment plans.

A simpler workflow: The new Treatment Plan will free up more time for patient care.

Enhanced treatment plans: you’ll have a trove of content to create your own curated library.
